Charleston SC

Well I made it safe to Charleston, my first 16 hour road trip by myself went by with absolutely no hitches! Since I've been here, we've been kept very busy. Though I have also had time for fun. I've gone to the ocean, (for my 1st and 2nd times ever!) Played in the waves, and got a sunburn :) I've gone to an outdoor movie, eaten lots of seafood, toured a historic home, and carried LOTS of chairs and stands. There are some awesome people who are really great to be around, and then some really lame ones who I try to avoid. The three operas that the orchestras are playing for are Don Giovanni by Mozart--the set is absolutely amazing! La Bella Dormente by Respighi-- which is a puppet opera. And my orchestra is play Die Vogel by Braunfels, which is weird but cool. I hope that I can get to see at least a dress rehearsal of Giovanni, but I don't know if my orchestra's rehearsal schedule will allow it. I'm thinking of coming back next summer, but maybe trying a different position. My roommate is supercool, which is great, as I haven't had a roommate in quite awhile. I have another day off today! But everything in Charleston is so damn expensive that we can't figure out anything to do. Though knowing us, we'll figure out something I'm sure. I hope life with everyone else is great!
