Update:
So, right now I am home for the holidays. It has been rather uneventful, I've read...8 books since I got here less than a week ago (4 today...pretty sad, isn't it). I went out with Erin to a few bars, saw a few movies, nothing really spectacular. My plans for the rest of my time here is no more than what has come. I'm really annoyed right now, because I have some sort of rash on my neck and a some dry skin spots elsewhere, and they don't seem to be clearing up. Oh well...hopefully they will soon. Sadly, I'm not going to be able to make it to Kent's wedding because of some appointments that had to be scheduled, but I can't really help it, though I must admit that I do not feel bad about not driving all that way. I think I'm going to Madison on the 6th or 7th. Chill for a few days, hopefully spend some time with Jesse, and then down to Chicago on the 13th to catch my flight to Helsinki. I'm excited, though I wish that I were going for longer, oh well. I'll be back on the 19th, with a few days to rest up before I start student teaching on the 24th. We'll see how all of that goes....I suppose I'm excited, though I really don't feel like thinking about anything right now. My finnish is getting super rusty, now that I'm not speaking it 4 days a week, I'm really going to have to work hard to keep it up, now that I will no longer be taking the class.
As for my future life...now I am applying for a type of teaching position in Estes Park CO, and arts admin grad programs (which I'll only go to if I get $) at American (DC), U of O (Eugene) and Drexel (Philly). So we'll see where I end up, if nothing pans out, I may just move wherever the wind takes me and just work wherever for a year or so. It's crazy to think how time has flown, and how it seems like I just started college, and here I am through with classes, my last exams been taken.
This semester was odd, I didn't have a lot of classwork, but it seemed like I was busier, I guess the odd shifts at the Terrace really took it out of me, plus just trying to catch up with all the odds and ends I somehow left unfinished. Speaking of odds ands ends there are quite a few things I need to finish this break, which means that I should spend less time reading, and more time practicing stuff, and writing admission essays. I loved my time with the kindergarteners at Lowell, and I will be very sad to move to high schoolers and middle schoolers. Though it was nice to get another thing out of the way. I really only have to finish(start) my eportfolio, and fill another 1 requirement and then I can graduate!
Hope everything is well with those of you who read this (are there any?, eh, who cares....well I may go read more, as it is a little early to fall asleep when i don't need to get up in the morning.)
